| Reverse description | A rectangular bas-relief panel, rendered in the Byzantine artistic tradition, dominates the central field. The composition depicts a large chalice-like amphora from which symmetrical grapevines with foliage and fruit clusters spring outward, flanked by two stylised peacocks facing a central Chi-Rho cross — a motif characteristic of early Christian Ravennate decorative art. Above the panel, the mint mark R appears beneath the arc legend CAPITALE DELL'IMPERO ROMANO D'OCCIDENTE, with the commemorative dates 402 · 2002 and the city name RAVENNA inscribed between legend and panel.
