| Beschrijving voorzijde | The obverse field is entirely occupied by a bilingual extract from Finland's Declaration of Independence, rendered in incuse capital lettering across the full face of the coin. The upper portion presents the Finnish text in progressively larger letterforms, followed by the Swedish translation in the lower half, creating a typographically dynamic composition. No effigy, border ornamentation, or exergual elements are present; the design relies solely on the bold, modernist arrangement of the inscribed text. The graduated scaling of the lettering, designed by Ilkka Suppanen, conveys a sense of proclamation and civic gravity appropriate to the centennial commemoration. |
