| Description de l’avers | The coat of arms of Pope Francis occupies the central field, rendered in high relief: a shield bearing the Christogram IHS surmounted by a cross and three nails, above a stylised star and a spikenard flower, flanked by the papal crossed keys and surmounted by the papal mitre. The papal motto MISERANDO ATQUE ELIGENDO is inscribed in three lines at the base of the design, with two wavy lines beneath symbolising the sea. The circular legend FRANCISCVS PP. ANNVS IVBILAEI MMXXV runs along the upper periphery in Latin capitals. The engraver's mark AV.INC appears to the lower right of the shield. The overall composition is executed in a clean, modern heraldic style with finely detailed milling. |

| Description du revers | The Virgin Mary is depicted in a frontal, hieratic pose at the centre of the reverse, her arms outstretched and her hands extended downward to support the calm waters upon which the Barque of Peter sails. Her flowing mantle spreads across the composition, forming a boundary between turbulent and still seas, while the Star of the Sea radiates above her figure. The Barque of Peter is rendered in fine detail upon the protected waters in the lower portion of the field. The circular legend CITTA' DEL VATICANO arcs along the upper periphery, and the denomination 20 EURO, the mint mark R, the initials CP, and the inscription IVBILAEVVM 2025 appear in the lower field. |
