| Beschrijving voorzijde | Right-facing draped bust of Emperor Valentinian I in high relief, diademed with a beaded crown, occupying the central and right portion of the field. Behind the emperor's effigy, an engraved panoramic view of the Roman frontier settlement of Brigantium (modern Bregenz) is depicted, showing fortified buildings and a hillside landscape rendered in fine detail. The emperor's hands are shown clasped in the lower field, conveying authority and ceremonial dignity.
