To the upper centre, the Angolan royal arms are flanked by the bank title BANCO DE ANGOLA and denomination numerals 20 at each corner, with the decree reference DECRETO Nº 12.131 DE 14 DE AGOSTO DE 1926 and the issue date 15 DE AGOSTO DE 1956 inscribed in the top border. To the right, an oval intaglio portrait of the Portuguese explorer Silva Porto, identified by a caption beneath the vignette, is set within an ornate engraved frame. |
