Obverse description Blue intaglio on multicoloured underprint. A vignette portrait of the ancient Greek philosopher Democritos appears at left, with the denomination numeral and two facsimile signatures at centre; a relief vignette of soldiers and horses occupies the right portion of the note. The date of issue, 1 March 1955, is inscribed in Greek alongside the issuing authority name.

Reverse description Blue on pale yellow underprint. The central vignette reproduces a classical scene from Plato's Symposium, rendered in a detailed engraved style with multiple figures in an antique interior setting. The issuing bank's name and the printing works inscription appear in Greek lettering within the surrounding border.
