| Obverse description | The obverse features the arms of the Republic of Liberia prominently at centre, depicting a sailing ship at sea beside a palm tree with a rising sun on the horizon, all within a heraldic shield supported by a scroll bearing the national motto THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE. The shield is flanked by crossed swords and surmounted by a dove in flight.
