| Beschrijving voorzijde | The national coat of arms of Liberia is depicted centrally, featuring a sailing ship at sea, a palm tree, and a rising sun on the shield, with a dove in flight above and a plow and shovel in the foreground. The shield is encircled by a wreath of leaves, with a ribbon above bearing the national motto. The date 2000 is divided across the field to either side of the arms. The outer legend REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA runs along the upper periphery, and the denomination 20 DOLLARS appears in the lower field. A reeded border frames the entire design. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Liberia's late-1990s and early-2000s commemorative program was one of the most aggressively commercial in the hobby — dozens of high-face-value silver pieces issued with no intention of circulation, sold directly to the collector market through overseas distributors. The Paris issue is part of that wave, produced well outside Liberia and bearing a denomination that bore no relationship to the country's actual monetary situation, where the Liberian dollar was severely devalued and US dollars dominated everyday transactions.
