| 正面描述 | The obverse features the national coat of arms of Liberia at center, depicting a three-masted sailing ship on the sea, a palm tree, a dove in flight, a rising sun, a plough, and a spade, all within a shield surmounted by a scroll bearing the national motto. The legend REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA arcs along the upper periphery within the beaded border, while a second inscription REPUBLIC OF LIBERIA appears on a ribbon below the shield, accompanied by the denomination 20 DOLLARS at the base. The date 2000 is divided across the lower field flanking the arms, and the motto THE LOVE OF LIBERTY BROUGHT US HERE appears on the scroll within the shield. |

Liberia's Central Bank issued a prolonged series of foreign capital commemoratives around the turn of the millennium, many produced by private minting contractors with little connection to Liberian monetary policy. KM#640 is one of dozens in that run — coins struck almost entirely for the collector export market, never intended for domestic circulation, and funded through licensing arrangements that generated hard currency for a country still fractured by civil war.
