Obverse description The obverse features the uncrowned effigy of King George VI in left-facing profile, rendered in a clean, sculptural style adapted from the original portrait by Humphrey Paget. The king is depicted without regalia, with naturally styled hair and a plain truncation. The circular legend, interrupted by a beaded inner border, reads GEORGIVS VI D : G : REX ET IND : IMP, referencing his titles as King and Emperor of India by the grace of God. At the base of the field, the denomination 20 DOLLARS is inscribed, flanked by a small Victory torch-and-V motif at lower left, and the engraver's initials HP appear at the truncation. A beaded border runs along the inner edge of the rim.
