| Beschrijving voorzijde | A bare-headed left-facing effigy of King George VI occupies the center of the field, rendered in high relief against a deeply mirrored proof background. The portrait, engraved after the classic effigy by Humphrey Paget, depicts the King in a plain, unadorned manner consistent with wartime-era Canadian coinage. A beaded inner border frames the design, with the Latin legend GEORGIVS VI D : G : REX ET IND : IMP: arcing around the upper periphery. The engraver's initials HP appear in the lower right field near the bust truncation, and the denomination 20 DOLLARS is inscribed in the lower segment of the coin. |
