Obverse description Bare-headed right-facing effigy of King George VI occupies the central field, rendered in high relief against a deeply mirrored proof background. The portrait, modelled after the Humphrey Paget design used on wartime Canadian coinage, displays fine hair and facial detail with the engraver's initials 'HP' visible at the truncation. The circular legend surrounding the effigy reads 'GEORGIVS VI D : G : REX ET IND : IMP:' in raised Latin lettering, following the inner beaded border. The denomination '20 DOLLARS' appears in two lines along the lower arc, also within the beaded border.
