The Royal Canadian Mounted Police has been a recurring subject for the Royal Canadian Mint's collector series, but the 2023 issue falls within a transitional moment for the entire Canadian coinage program — Elizabeth II died in September 2022, making any coin struck in her name the following year part of a deliberate wind-down of existing authorized designs rather than a new commission. Charles III effigy coinage was already entering production simultaneously.
