Reverse description The reverse presents a colour-enhanced central design commemorating the 150th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, founded in 1873. A Mountie in full ceremonial red serge dress uniform is depicted in portrait, standing alongside her Hanoverian horse rendered in naturalistic detail with selective colour application. The anniversary dates 1873–2023 appear prominently within the design, flanked by the country name CANADA arcing across the upper field. The initials SH, identifying the reverse artist, appear discretely in the lower portion of the design. The polished proof fields and frosted relief work create a vivid contrast that enhances the colour-applied elements of the composition.
