Obverse description Three-quarter facing bust of Emperor Haile Selassie I, draped in military uniform, positioned at center dividing a crowned imperial basket at left and a crowned shield at right. A circular legend in Ge'ez script appears around the upper field, while a bilingual inscription in Latin script arcs across the lower field reading 'Haile Selassie 75th Birth Day And 50 Years of Leadership'. The portrait is rendered in high relief with fine detailing to the facial features and uniform.
