| Descrizione del rovescio | An intricately rendered ultra-high-relief depiction of the interior coffered ceiling of the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvests within the Temple of Heaven complex in Beijing, viewed from directly below in a dramatic upward perspective. Concentric rings of carved lacquered beams, decorative corbels, and ornamental motifs radiate outward from a central gilded boss, rendered with exceptional sculptural depth that causes the design to recede sharply toward the centre. Architectural friezes and column capitals, rendered in fine detail, frame the composition along all four cardinal borders. The inscription TEMPLE OF HEAVEN appears in a cartouche at the upper edge of the design, and the date 2015 is placed in a corresponding cartouche at the lower edge. |
