| 背面描述 | Central motif depicting a Lockheed 14 Super Electra aircraft in flight, rendered in detailed relief against a backdrop evoking the open sky. A gold-plated cameo portrait of pioneer aviator Zebulon Lewis Leigh appears within the design, highlighted in 24-karat gold plating to distinguish it from the surrounding silver field. The denomination CANADA 20 DOLLARS is inscribed along the lower portion of the reverse, with the engraver's initials RRC present in the field. |

The Lockheed 14 Super Electra entered service with Trans-Canada Air Lines in 1938, making it central to the early years of what would become Air Canada. The type gained a darker footnote that same year when Howard Hughes flew a modified version around the world in just over 91 hours — a record at the time. The Super Electra's twin-tail configuration and relatively short range limited its commercial lifespan, and most examples were retired or converted for wartime transport duties before 1945.
This coin is part of the Royal Canadian Mint's Aviation series, which ran across two volumes through the 1990s honoring aircraft with direct ties to Canadian aviation history.
