The Lockheed 14 Super Electra entered service with Trans-Canada Air Lines in 1938, making it central to the early years of what would become Air Canada. The Super Electra's twin-tail configuration and relatively short range limited its commercial lifespan, and most examples were retired or converted for wartime transport duties before 1945.
