The Moon Phases series is one of the Royal Canadian Mint's recurring fine silver programs, updated here for Charles III's effigy following Elizabeth II's death in September 2022. The black rhodium selectively plated over polished silver creates genuine tonal contrast without applied colour — a technique the RCM has refined across multiple issues since the early 2010s.
KM#3593–3599 indicates seven discrete issues within the series, each corresponding to a distinct lunar phase. The .9999 fineness is the RCM's house standard for collector silver, first adopted broadly in the 1990s and now a consistent specification across their bullion and numismatic lines.
