| Obverse description | Left-facing effigy of King Charles III depicted in civilian dress — suit and tie — rendered in high relief against a field largely obscured by selective black rhodium plating, which creates a dramatic nocturnal atmosphere consistent across the puzzle series. The legend CANADA · 2025 arcs along the upper border, while CHARLES III and D · G · REX appear flanking the portrait on either side. The denomination 20 DOLLARS is inscribed along the lower arc. The engraved field beneath the plating features flowing linear motifs suggestive of a forested landscape, visible where the silver substrate is left exposed. The Moon Phases series is one of the Royal Canadian Mint's recurring fine silver programs, updated here for Charles III's effigy following Elizabeth II's death in September 2022. The black rhodium selectively plated over polished silver creates genuine tonal contrast without applied colour — a technique the RCM has refined across multiple issues since the early 2010s.
KM#3593–3599 indicates seven discrete issues within the series, each corresponding to a distinct lunar phase. The .9999 fineness is the RCM's house standard for collector silver, first adopted broadly in the 1990s and now a consistent specification across their bullion and numismatic lines.
