| Obverse description | The obverse bears the effigy of King Charles III facing left, portrayed at 74 years of age, set against a background of an engraved maple leaf pattern. The royal effigy is rendered in high relief with fine detail. The legend arching around the upper periphery reads CHARLES III D·G·REX, with the denomination 20 DOLLARS and the date 2025 completing the inscription within the field. |

| Reverse description | The reverse is a richly detailed engraved composition celebrating Hogan's Alley, Vancouver's historic first Black community and cultural centre active during the twentieth century. At the centre of the design blooms British Columbia's provincial flower, the Pacific Dogwood (Cornus nuttallii). Surrounding it in a circular arrangement, rendered clockwise from the one o'clock position, are figural vignettes depicting a cook at a women-owned chicken house restaurant, a Black railway sleeping car porter, a choir representing the African Methodist Episcopal Fountain Chapel (Vancouver's first Black church), and a group of dancers alongside a pianist, saxophonist, and singer evoking the vibrant nightclub and speakeasy culture of the neighbourhood. The legend CANADA and the engraver's initials KD appear within the field. |
