表面の説明 The obverse is dominated by an intaglio portrait of Sir Stafford Sands at right, rendered in fine engraved detail against a multicolour guilloche underprint in shades of green, pink, and blue. At upper centre, the issuer name 'The Central Bank of The Bahamas' appears above the denomination 'Twenty Dollars' in large serif lettering, while a sand dollar vignette and an ink-well motif with a stylised flower occupy the left field. The legal tender clause, denomination numerals in the corners, and the series date 'SERIES 2010' are also present, with the Governor's signature and a serial number at lower left.

The 2010 issue belongs to a series the Central Bank of the Bahamas rolled out in stages following the 2000–2001 redesign program — P#74A represents a later printing run rather than the inaugural year of the design. Canadian Bank Note Company has handled Bahamian currency production for decades, making Ottawa the consistent source for the archipelago's notes across multiple generations of issue.

The $20 denomination circulates actively in the Bahamas, which maintains a one-to-one peg with the U.S. dollar — a fixed rate in place since 1973 and enforced through currency controls that prohibit the Bahamian dollar from trading internationally. That peg removes exchange rate pressure but makes domestic inflation management entirely dependent on U.S. monetary policy.
