Obverse description The obverse presents a multicolour green and yellow guilloche underprint with a vertical holographic stripe along the left margin carrying the bilingual Bank of Canada / Banque du Canada wordmark. An intaglio portrait of Queen Elizabeth II is positioned to the left of centre, with a matching watermark portrait visible in the adjacent clear area when held to light. The central vignette renders a detailed front elevation of the Centre Block of the Parliament Buildings in Ottawa, with a Canadian flag vignette to the upper right and bilingual denomination and legal tender inscriptions completing the design.
