The right portion of the obverse carries an intaglio vignette of the National Bank of Vietnam building, rendered in carmine-red with fine line engraving. The left field is occupied by a large multicolour guilloche watermark area, overlaid with an ornate lattice security underprint in iridescent tones. Denomination numerals "20" appear in the upper corners framed by rosette guilloche patterns, with the bank title in a cartouche at top and "HAI MƯƠI ĐỒNG" in bold letterpress at the foot. |

The reverse is composed entirely of elaborate multicolour guilloche work in magenta, blue, green, and grey, with no central pictorial vignette. A large denomination numeral "20" sits at centre within concentric lathe-work rosettes, flanked by floral guilloche motifs at right and further rosette underprints at lower left. The bank title appears in a rectangular frame at the top, with the statutory counterfeiting-warning legend in a boxed cartouche at lower right. |
