| 正面描述 | The quartered shield of Andorra, surmounted by a mural crown, occupies the left portion of the field. To the right of the shield, a five-line legend identifies the co-prince Joan D.M. as Bishop of Urgell and Prince of Andorra. Andorra began issuing its own coinage only in 1976, centuries after the co-principality had functioned without a domestic currency — using French francs and Spanish pesetas interchangeably. The 1991 Games of the Small States of Europe, hosted in Andorra la Vella, gave the government a ready occasion for a commemorative series, and several denominations were struck in this .925 silver specification to coincide with the event.
Joan Martí i Alanis served as Episcopal Co-Prince from 1971 to 2003, one of the longest tenures in that office.
