| 表面の銘文 | СОЦИЈАЛИСТИЧКА ФЕДЕРАТИВНА РЕПУБЛИКА ЈУГОСЛАВИЈА 29·XI·1943 (Translation: Socialist federal republic of Yugoslavia 29th November 1943) |
| 裏面の説明 | The reverse displays a left-facing portrait bust of a young worker wearing a partial collar suggesting industrial dress, rendered in a bold, sculptural style characteristic of mid-20th century Yugoslav coinage. To the right of the portrait, the large numeral '20' appears prominently in the upper field, with the denomination DINARA and the date 1963 inscribed below in Latin characters. The engraver's signature DINČIĆ M·F appears in small letters to the left of the bust in the field. The composition fills the flan with minimal border treatment, giving the design a modern, aesthetic quality. |

The 1963 Yugoslav coinage reform accompanied the redenomination that replaced the old dinar at a rate of 100:1, an attempt to stabilize a currency that had been eroded by postwar inflation and the economic disruption following Tito's break with Stalin in 1948. This 20-dinar piece belongs to the first series issued under the new parity, before Yugoslavia's experiment with market socialism began generating its own inflationary pressures in the late 1960s.
The "SFR" legend distinguishes this type from the earlier "FNR" issues — the change from Federativna Narodna Republika to Socijalistička Federativna Republika was made official by the 1963 constitution.
