The Banco Nacional de Nicaragua held an unusual dual role during this period — simultaneously a commercial bank and the country's sole issuing authority, a structure maintained under U.S. influence following the financial reorganization of the 1920s. The American Bank Note Company in New York handled the full run of this series across nearly a decade of issue, which accounts for the technical consistency across date variants despite the political turbulence of the Somoza consolidation years.
Collectors should note that the date range spans the transition from Anastasio Somoza García's first presidency into the period of his tightened dynastic control — but the notes themselves show no corresponding design revision. ABNC simply continued printing against the same contract.
