| Rückseitenbeschreibung | Printed in blue intaglio on an intricate guilloche underprint of the same hue. The Nicaraguan Coat of Arms occupies the center, rendered as a circular vignette enclosing a triangle with five volcanoes and a radiant cap of liberty above the sea, surrounded by the legend REPÚBLICA DE NICARAGUA — AMÉRICA CENTRAL. Denomination numerals "20" appear in ornate cartouches at left and right, with VEINTE CÓRDOBAS in a solid panel at the foot of the note. |

The Banco Nacional de Nicaragua held an unusual dual role during this period — simultaneously a commercial bank and the country's sole issuing authority, a structure maintained under U.S. influence following the financial reorganization of the 1920s. The American Bank Note Company in New York handled the full run of this series across nearly a decade of issue, which accounts for the technical consistency across date variants despite the political turbulence of the Somoza consolidation years.
Collectors should note that the date range spans the transition from Anastasio Somoza García's first presidency into the period of his tightened dynastic control — but the notes themselves show no corresponding design revision. ABNC simply continued printing against the same contract.
