| Obverse description | Three-quarter facing bust of King Sobhuza II, turned slightly to the left, depicted wearing a traditional draped collar garment. The effigy occupies the central field with strong relief, engraved in a naturalistic style. The legend SWAZILAND INDEPENDENCE arcs along the upper periphery in bold Latin capitals, while SOBHUZA II is inscribed along the lower arc. The engraver's initials T.S. appear in the lower field beneath the bust. |
