The circular legend INDO-CHINE FRANÇAISE arcs across the upper periphery, while the lower periphery bears the inscriptions TITRE 0.835. POIDS 5 GR. specifying the standard fineness and weight. A counterstamp of 0.700 appears punched into the left interior of the wreath, representing a purity alteration struck over the original 0.835 titre, and the Paris mint mark A appears at the base of the wreath interior.
