| 裏面の説明 | Three Mahoe trees (Talipariti elatum), Jamaica's national tree, are depicted rising from a low mound in the central field, their characteristically broad, flowering canopies rendered in fine detail, with a spray of leaves and blossoms extending into the lower field on either side. The numeral '20' appears in large digits in the lower centre, with the denomination spelled out as 'TWENTY CENTS' along the bottom periphery. The legend 'FORESTRY FOR DEVELOPMENT' arcs along the upper periphery, flanked by pellet stops. |

Jamaica's 1983 coinage was produced against a backdrop of severe IMF-mandated austerity, with the Seaga government having devalued the Jamaican dollar sharply the previous year. Coin production continued largely for circulation necessity rather than any commemorative impulse, though the Independence branding on this denomination had been in use since the early 1970s.
KM#104 is not scarce in circulated grades.
