The duck-billed head and webbed forefeet of the animal are prominently shown in the lower portion of the design. The large numeral '20' occupies the upper right of the field, serving as the denomination indicator. The engraver's initials 'SD' (Stuart Devlin) appear incuse on the platypus's bill area at left. The overall composition reflects Devlin's original naturalistic yet stylised approach, here rendered to proof standard with frosted relief against mirror fields. |
