| Mô tả mặt trước | Central design features the Cerro de Montevideo (Montevideo Hill), a prominent national symbol derived from the upper-right quarter of the Uruguayan coat of arms, depicted with its characteristic fortress at its summit. The abbreviated country name URUGUAY appears as a legend along the upper periphery, while the date is inscribed below the central device. The hill motif, set on the left bank of Montevideo Bay, symbolizes strength and vigilance. The mint mark 'So' (Santiago, Chile) appears in the legend field. The design is executed in a clean, modern relief style appropriate to a pattern issue. |

| Thông tin bổ sung |
Uruguay's 1976 military government commissioned several pattern strikes as it reconsidered the country's coinage system following years of inflation that had gutted the peso's purchasing power. This nickel silver piece never advanced to circulation — the denomination itself was effectively redundant by the time the patterns were struck, and the reform that followed opted for different specifications entirely.
