At the lower field, an array of open books and manuscripts is depicted in relief. Curved Thai legend along the upper periphery reads '๑๐๐ ปี หอสมุดแห่งชาติ ๑๒ ตุลาคม ๒๔๔๘ - ๒๕๔๘' (100th Anniversary of the National Library, 12 October BE 2448–2548).
