| Obverse description | Bare-headed, bearded effigy of Emperor Pedro II facing left, rendered in high relief with finely engraved hair and full beard characteristic of his mature portrait type. The truncation of the bust is plain and unadorned. The circular legend surrounds the portrait along the periphery, with the date 1852 positioned prominently in the lower exergual area. A dentilated border frames the entire design. |
