Reverse description Bold multi-line Arabic calligraphic legend occupies the entire central field, enclosed within a raised beaded oval border. The inscription bears the imperial titulature proclaiming the sultan 'Sultan of the two lands and emperor of the two seas,' followed by the dynastic formula 'Sultan, son of the Sultan,' with the regnal year numeral appearing within the text. The composition is rendered in a confident, deeply struck Ottoman calligraphic style, and the field is surrounded by the same continuous raised bead border as the obverse.
