正面描述 The obverse features the crowned Polish white eagle displayed at center, rendered in fine relief with spread wings and talons clutching a sword and orb, serving as the national arms of the Republic of Poland. The circular legend RZECZPOSPOLITA POLSKA arcs along the upper rim, while the denomination ZŁ 2 ZŁ appears at the lower field flanking the large numeral '2'. The date '2001' is divided on either side of the eagle's lower body, with the mint mark 'MW' of the Mint of Poland incorporated into the design. A decorative border of small dots frames the inner field.

附加信息

The Amber Road series, launched by the National Bank of Poland in 2001, commemorates the ancient trade network running from the Baltic coast south through Roman territories — a route that made Polish-region amber one of the most valuable commodities in the ancient Mediterranean world. These Nordic gold bimetallic issues were part of a broader commemorative program Poland accelerated in the years surrounding its NATO accession and EU candidacy negotiations.

Nordic gold, the aluminum-bronze alloy developed by the Swedish firm Outokumpu in the 1990s, was adopted by numerous European mints for its resistance to counterfeiting and tarnish.
