| توضیحات روی اسکناس | Brown intaglio print on a pale green guilloche underprint. The central field carries the large denomination inscription DWA ZŁOTE over a fine lathe-work background, flanked by the numeral 2 at lower left. At upper right, an octagonal vignette contains a portrait of a young woman in a traditional Polish headscarf, with the numeral 2 repeated in an ornate cartouche below it. The issuer's name BANK EMISYJNY W POLSCE is set across the top border, the place and date of issue KRAKÓW 1. SIERPNIA 1941 R. appears in the central text block, and the designations PREZYDENT and ZASTĘPCA PREZYDENTA are printed above the two facsimile signature lines. |

The Bank Emisyjny w Polsce was itself a German creation — established by the occupation authorities in April 1940 to replace the Bank of Poland and finance the administration of the General Government. Młynarski, who had served as a genuine central banking official in interwar Poland, signed these notes under circumstances that later complicated his postwar reputation, though he was ultimately cleared of collaboration charges.
Leonard Sowiński designed the full series under occupation conditions. Print runs for the lower denominations were enormous by necessity — the Germans deliberately flooded the General Government with currency as an inflationary extraction mechanism, drawing goods and labor out of the occupied population.
