Aanvullende informatie

Poland's return to sovereign coinage in the early 1920s was complicated by runaway inflation that had devastated the marka, the currency the new republic inherited from the occupation period. The 2 Złote denomination was part of the stabilization program tied to the introduction of the złoty in 1924, itself anchored to the gold franc under Finance Minister Władysław Grabski's sweeping monetary reform. Trial strikes in silver — distinct from the adopted circulation alloy — were produced as part of the approval process at Mennica Polska, making survivors institutional rather than commercial pieces from the outset.
