| Obverse description | The State Emblem of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea occupies the central field, depicting a stylised hydroelectric dam and power lines framed by sheaves of rice tied with a ribbon, surmounted by a five-pointed star. The Hangul legend naming the Central Bank of the DPRK runs along the upper periphery, while the weight specification '7g' and fineness '999' appear in the lower field to either side of the emblem. The denomination '2 WON' is inscribed along the lower rim, flanked by small laurel sprigs. |

North Korea has issued commemorative silver in volume since the 1980s, almost exclusively for foreign collectors and dealers — hard currency the state could not otherwise extract from an isolated economy. This piece is part of that export trade, never intended for domestic circulation and almost certainly never handled by a North Korean citizen.
