Obverse description Central field bears a multi-line Persian Nastaliq inscription within a beaded inner circle, proclaiming the coin as the first sample of Khorasan gold mined and struck at the imperial Tehran mint. The inscription is surrounded by two symmetrical laurel and oak branches tied at the base with a ribbon bow, evoking the classical wreath motif adapted to Qajar coinage style. The entire design is contained within a finely toothed border, with the word 'Tehran' (طهران) visible at the very base beneath the wreath tie.
