The central field bears the multiline date legend recording the commencement of the siege on 7 July and 3 August 1633 (DIE VII IULII ET III AVGVSTI ANNO DNI MDCXXXIII). A circular Latin legend runs along the border, naming the besieging commanders and referencing the city of Breisach (BRISACVM OBSESS DVCT REINGR OTT ET MARCH FRID DVRL). The klippe flan is square with characteristic irregular hammered edges. |

Above the wolf, a radiant sun with a star-burst device is shown in the upper right, with clouds and crescent forms in the upper field, symbolizing divine protection over the city. A multiline Latin inscription in the field reads HOCORI ENTE FV GIT, completing the border legend's meaning. The circular border legend, separated by a dotted inner circle, records the date of the enemy's shameful retreat on 16 October (DIE XVI OCTOB AB VTRISQVE TVRPI FVGA DESERT). The composition commemorates the lifting of the siege and the flight of the besieging forces. |
