The effigy is executed in a late Baroque portrait style characteristic of late 18th-century German coinage. A circular Latin legend surrounds the portrait within a beaded border, reading V • G • G • IOS • FRIED • H • ZV • SACHSEN • & • & • OBERVORMVND V • LANDES REGENT, identifying the Duke by name and his title as Chief Guardian and Regent of the Land. |

| Descripción del reverso | A full-length armored figure, representing a knight or Saxon warrior, stands facing slightly left at center, holding an upright sword in his right hand and resting his left hand upon a large oval shield decorated with an armorial device. To the left of the figure, a crested helmet rests upon a plinth. The entire composition stands upon a raised platform or socle. In the lower field beneath the platform, a two-line inscription in the exergue reads X • EINE • FEINE • MARK •, indicating the coin's silver fineness standard of one-tenth of a fine Cologne mark. The design is enclosed within a beaded border. |
