Obverse description Half-length armored effigy of Georg Friedrich, Margrave of Brandenburg and Duke of Jägerndorf, turned three-quarters to the right, the figure clad in full plate armor and holding a mace over the right shoulder. The bust is rendered in the late Renaissance style characteristic of German princely portraiture of the period. A continuous Latin legend encircles the field, enumerating the ruler's titles. The inscription is separated by decorative stops and heraldic symbols.

Reverse description A floriated cross divides the field into four quadrants, with the composite Hohenzollern arms displayed at the center. Each angle formed by the cross contains a small subsidiary shield of arms pertaining to the territories under Georg Friedrich's rule. The date is split and reads outward at the top of the design, divided by the mintmaster's symbol. The Latin devotional legend, drawn from Romans 8:31, commences at the upper right and proceeds around the periphery of the coin.
