Obverse description Crowned and elaborately mantled coat of arms of Baden, supported on either side by two rampant griffons, with the chain of the Order of the House of Baden suspended below. The denomination and date appear in the surrounding circular legend within a beaded border. The heraldic composition is rendered in fine detail typical of mid-19th century German engraving.
