| Obverse description | Bare-headed portrait bust of Duke Bernhard II of Saxe-Meiningen facing left, rendered in high relief with finely engraved curling hair and a short beard. The effigy is truncated at the neck and occupies the central field. The circular legend reads BERNHARD HERZOG ZU SACHSEN MEININGEN, disposed around the periphery between the inner field and the beaded border. The engraver's name VOIGT appears in small capitals beneath the bust truncation. |
