Reverse description The elaborately detailed quartered arms of Anhalt-Bernburg displayed on a large heraldic shield, draped with ermine-lined mantling tied with ribbons on either side and surmounted by a ducal crown. A collar of medallions encircles the shield as an order chain. The circumferential legend reads 2 THALER VII EINE F. MARK 3½ GULDEN flanked by six-pointed ornamental stars, with VEREINS 1840 MÜNZE across the lower arc, the date split around the base of the shield. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded border.
