Beschrijving voorzijde The city arms of Stralsund — a distinctive triangular device composed of three converging pennants or flags — are displayed prominently at center, enclosed within a wreath of laurel or oak branches tied at the base. The entire device is set within a raised border, with the encircling Latin legend distributed around the outer field. The design is rendered in high relief with a bold, medallic style characteristic of early seventeenth-century German civic coinage.

Opschrift voorzijde +DEO. OPTIM. MAXIM. IMPER. ROMANO. FOEDERI. POSTERISQ.
Beschrijving keerzijde The reverse bears a fourteen-line commemorative Latin inscription filling the entire field, recording the siege of the city of Stralsund beginning on 12 May 1628 by Imperial forces and its liberation from blockade on 24 July 1628 through divine grace and the aid of the Nordic kings. The date is expressed in Roman numerals (MDCXXVIII) integrated within the text. The inscription concludes with the abbreviation S:P:Q:S:F:F: (Senatus Populusque Stralsundensis Fieri Fecit), denoting the civic authority that commissioned the piece. The lettering is rendered in elegant Roman capitals occupying the full flan, with a beaded inner border framing the inscription. The overall composition exemplifies the commemorative medallic tradition of the Thirty Years' War era.
