The date is expressed in Roman numerals (MDCXXVIII) integrated within the text. The inscription concludes with the abbreviation S:P:Q:S:F:F: (Senatus Populusque Stralsundensis Fieri Fecit), denoting the civic authority that commissioned the piece.
