| Obverse description | The obverse features the national coat of arms of Samoa at center, depicting a quartered shield bearing a stylised Southern Cross constellation of five stars and a coconut palm tree above ocean waves, surmounted by a radiating Latin cross, and flanked by two olive branches. A scroll beneath the shield bears the national motto in Samoan.
