The Isle of Man has issued sovereign-sized gold pieces under its own authority since the 1970s, operating outside the Royal Mint's production remit — a quirk that has made Manx sovereigns a persistent oddity in British-format gold collecting. This 2022 piece marks Elizabeth II's Platinum Jubilee, her 70th year on the throne, an anniversary no other British monarch has reached.
